Why go
The rodeo is the central draw, but the Stampede also connects Calgary's ranching image to agricultural competitions, live entertainment and a downtown parade tradition. Western dress and decorations spread beyond the grounds during the event. Visit for that citywide atmosphere as much as for a single show, and choose the programme elements that reveal the traditions most interesting to you.
