National Museum of Cambodia
The National Museum is a Khmer-style building holding major Cambodian sculpture and archaeology. Its covered galleries suit a measured visit in central Phnom Penh.
Use the collection to trace forms seen later at Angkor, from early figures to later stone and bronze work. The courtyard and terracotta roof are part of the experience, but the objects deserve most of the time. It pairs well with the nearby Royal Palace.
What to look for
Stone sculpture galleries span Khmer history.
A central courtyard interrupts the museum rooms.
Useful to know
Pair it with the Royal Palace on a central-city day.
Check the museum’s current last-admission time before setting out.
