Ta Prohm
Huge tree roots and fallen stone define a visit to Ta Prohm. The temple's enclosed paths make it a striking contrast to Angkor's broad, formal approaches.
The roots are part of the experience, but so are the Buddhist chambers and galleries built under Jayavarman VII. Follow the marked circuit to see both the vegetation and the carved masonry without crossing fragile sections. Expect narrow passages and slower movement when groups arrive.
What to look for
Roots wrap around doors and masonry.
Enclosed courtyards reveal carved lintels and galleries.
Useful to know
Follow the marked visitor route around protected masonry.
