Fundy National Park
Near Alma, New Brunswick, Fundy National Park rises from tidal shore to Acadian Highlands forest. A visit can centre on the exposed seabed, inland waterfalls, or both if the tide allows.
Why go
The Bay of Fundy's large tidal change transforms the shore between visits: at low tide, marine life clings to the exposed ground, while high water hides it again. Inland, Dickson Falls and the Caribou Plains boardwalk show a different park of streams, forest and bog.
What to look for
Low tide exposes the shore near Alma.
Dickson Falls sits in the inland forest.
Caribou Plains includes bog and upland habitat.
Useful to know
Check the tide times before making the exposed seabed your main stop.
Combine one coastal stop with one inland trail to see the park's sharp landscape contrast.
