Kluane National Park and Reserve
Kluane's Saint Elias mountains and glaciers dominate southwestern Yukon. Day visitors can use lower-elevation lakes and trails, while the icefields and Mount Logan belong to a much larger wilderness scale.
Mount Logan is Canada's highest mountain, and glaciers cover much of the park. Kathleen Lake and named trails such as King's Throne offer a way to experience the landscape without entering the remote icefields. The park also lies within the traditional territories of Kluane First Nation and Champagne and Aishihik First Nations.
What to look for
The Saint Elias mountains rise above vast icefields.
Kathleen Lake lies below the high ranges.
Forest and tundra occupy lower ground beneath the glaciers.
Useful to know
Choose a lower-elevation trail or Kathleen Lake for a day visit; glacier travel is a separate undertaking.
Check current trail conditions and weather before heading into mountain terrain.
