Why go
This route suits visitors who want archaeology, architecture, art and a stretch outdoors in one day. Pointe-à-Callière and Notre-Dame Basilica are close together in Old Montréal, so the first part needs little travel. The longer walk to the Museum of Fine Arts marks a clear change of neighbourhood and gives you time to see more of the city. Save Mount Royal Park for the end, when a shorter visit can still feel rewarding. The park is weather dependent, and the museum is the best place to linger if rain makes the final climb less appealing.
