Toronto waterfront history and skyline
Start among the historic buildings of Fort York, then walk to Ripley’s Aquarium and the CN Tower. Add St. Lawrence Market if you still have time and energy for a final browse.
This compact route suits visitors who want a mix of Toronto history and big indoor attractions without crossing the city. Give Fort York time for its buildings and grounds, then walk east toward the aquarium and tower, which sit next to each other. Their indoor visits make the middle of the day easier in unsettled weather, though the tower view is best when visibility is clear. St. Lawrence Market is an optional finish rather than a required fourth appointment. Skipping it leaves more time for the three main stops and keeps the day relaxed.

Fort York preserves historic military buildings and grounds close to Toronto’s modern waterfront district. The site makes the city’s early defensive and urban history visible in one compact place.
Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada sits near the CN Tower and presents aquatic animals in large indoor displays. It is a family-friendly stop whose main appeal is close observation of marine life.
Ride up the CN Tower for a high view over downtown Toronto and Lake Ontario. The observation level gives you the city’s layout at a glance, but clouds can limit the panorama.
St. Lawrence Market is a food market in Toronto’s old town, with vendors gathered in a historic market setting. It suits a shorter browse or a meal-centred stop rather than a museum-length visit.
