Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21
Pier 21 in Halifax is a former immigration terminal that now houses Canada’s immigration museum. It connects personal arrival stories with the waterfront building where many journeys began.
Why go
Visit for the relationship between place and history: the terminal gives the exhibitions a physical setting that a general museum lacks. Allow time for the stories and records rather than only looking at the building. The museum is on the Halifax waterfront, so you can reach the nearby harbour sites on foot.
