Rideau Canal Ottawa Locks
The Ottawa Locks are the northern end of the Rideau Canal, below Parliament Hill. Watch the flight of locks and the meeting of canal, river and historic city on an outdoor walk.
This stop explains the canal as working infrastructure rather than only a line on the map. The stepped chambers and waterside setting reward slow observation, especially when boats are passing through. Lock activity is seasonal, so check Parks Canada’s current operating information if seeing a transit is central to your visit.
