Boulders Penguin Colony
Boardwalks beside Boulders Beach bring you close to the African penguin colony while protecting the birds and their nesting habitat.
Why go
The penguins are the reason to come, but the sheltered granite coves and clear False Bay water make the setting memorable too. Follow the marked boardwalk rather than approaching birds on the sand. This is a separate visit from the wider Simon’s Town waterfront, with its own conservation entrance and ticket.
What to look for
African penguins along the designated viewing boardwalk
Granite boulders dividing the small beach coves
Useful to know
Stay on the boardwalk in the viewing area.
Check the SANParks gate details before travelling.
