Choosing walks, viewpoints and time on the water
Capri offers very different days on foot and afloat. Eastern paths, Monte Solaro and the two harbours provide useful choices without relying on shopping or celebrity watching.
Walking towards the Arco Naturale lets you approach coastal scenery from the land, with steep sections and long stairs to consider. Monte Solaro offers a higher perspective from Anacapri, while a boat excursion places the island's cliffs in view from below. Choose the perspective and physical effort that matter most to you.
Useful to know
For eastern footpaths around the Arco Naturale, allow for repeated climbs and descents; carry water and use suitable walking shoes.
Start a Monte Solaro outing from Anacapri and check the chairlift's current operation before relying on it.
Treat Marina Grande and Marina Piccola as different coastal bases; check local sea conditions before planning swimming or a boat outing.
