The approach passes through Anacapri's cultivated outskirts before arriving above the southern cliffs and open sea. At the end, the landscape changes abruptly from lane to precipice. The outlook towards Punta Carena gives a reason to continue beyond the Philosophical Park rather than ending the walk among its shaded paths.
