Certosa di San Giacomo
This former Carthusian monastery combines cloisters, church architecture and museum collections a short walk from Capri's crowded centre, offering a slower cultural visit.
The cloisters let visitors see how a religious community organised space around enclosed courts, a different pattern from Capri's narrow shopping lanes. Museum displays give another reason to enter the complex. Leave enough time to look at both the buildings and their collections rather than treating the monastery as a viewpoint.
