Fforest Fawr
Follow waymarked woodland trails near Castell Coch, with carved figures, spring flowers and old mining remains giving the walk several distinct points of interest.
Fforest Fawr is a woodland visit in its own right, separate from the castle tour. The operator describes an easy sculpture trail and longer routes that reveal former iron workings. Keep outside fenced mine areas and check for forestry notices before setting out; woodland operations can temporarily change which paths are available.
