Wat Lok Moli
Beside Chiang Mai's north moat, Wat Lok Moli stands out for its brick gateway and largely bare brick chedi, a marked contrast with gilded temple towers.
Why go
The exposed brickwork makes the form of the chedi particularly easy to read. A visit also lets you notice how the gateway, chedi and wooden temple frontage sit together just outside the old-city moat. This sequence is visible from the street approach.
What to look for
The brick archway at the temple entrance.
The large brick chedi with little covering its masonry.
The wooden frontage of the assembly hall.
Useful to know
Approach from the north moat to see the gateway and chedi in sequence.
Pair it with a walk along the moat or other northern old-city sites.
