Why go
The round platform, a platform where masonry tombs were found, and the Venus Platform form a meaningful sequence before the Xtoloc Temple. The Venus reliefs recall those on the northern Venus Platform, but the carving here is less refined. Keep the historic alignment distinct from a guaranteed present-day walking route.
The full story
Three smaller constructions lay east of the Osario along a line that continued into a sacbe, a raised paved Maya road. One was round; another contained masonry graves. The central Venus Platform carried a relief program close to that of the larger northern platform. Frontal bird-human figures appear beside bound bundles of rods crowned by a year-bearer sign, together with a large Venus symbol. The parallel suggests a related function, though it does not prove that the two platforms were used in precisely the same way. The sacbe continued toward the small Xtoloc Temple beside the cenote of the same name. Parts of the road had collapsed over underground voids and were later reconstructed. The description provides a useful map of relationships among buildings and symbols; it does not verify modern access along the ancient causeway or to the interiors beyond it.
