Why go
The paths reveal the terraces and changing coastline that the train crosses out of sight. Via dell'Amore links Riomaggiore and Manarola along the coast. Walks toward Corniglia, Vernazza and Monterosso involve more climbing and rougher ground, so a train leg can make a mixed walking day more comfortable.
What to look for
- Via dell'Amore follows a paved coastal line between Riomaggiore and Manarola.
- Corniglia's station is below the hilltop center, adding a climb after arrival.
- The Vernazza–Monterosso path passes vineyards and olive groves above the sea.
Useful to know
- Check the national park's live trail map and any access rules for the exact section you plan to walk.
- Wear shoes suited to uneven stone and carry water for the exposed climbs.
- Use the train to shorten the day if a coastal section is unavailable or the climb is too demanding.
