Why go
This easy coastal route suits families or anyone who wants time by the water with one clear historical stop. Begin at Kontokali Beach for the view across the channel, then walk around the bay to the surviving stone arches of the Venetian Shipyards. Gouvia Beach is close enough to finish without a long transfer. Give each shore a different role: Kontokali for the wider outlook and Gouvia for a second swim or a slower pause. Check local sea and weather conditions before entering the water, and do not count on any particular beach facility being available. The route is best in daylight and fair conditions.
