Begur’s Castle Hill and Northern Beaches
Explore Begur before climbing to its castle viewpoint, then descend towards Sa Riera for the beach and fishing-village setting, with Illa Roja as an optional final coastal stop.

Choose this route for the change from Begur’s hilltop streets to the coast below. A compact town walk comes first, followed by time at the castle’s surviving enclosure and viewpoint. The descent to Sa Riera makes this an active walking day rather than a sequence of beachside drop-offs. Leave enough energy for the return or arrange your onward journey before starting. Sa Riera is the final essential stop; continue to Illa Roja only if conditions and your pace suit another stretch of coast. The visit is for observing the beaches and their setting, with no swimming or ease of access assumed.

Begur combines a castle-backed historic centre with scattered coastal coves; allow for separate journeys between the inland village and the beach you choose.
