Why go
The Gulf of Roses, Begur’s bays and Lloret’s neighbouring beaches offer different starting points. A town-based shortlist is easier to use than a coast-wide catalogue, especially when you want to combine the beach with a settlement. Check the particular access rather than assuming nearby names share the same approach.
The full story
In the north, Roses provides both town beaches such as La Nova and more separated coves including Montjoi and Jòncols. Around the Gulf, Empuriabrava, Sant Pere Pescador and Sant Martí d’Empúries offer further beach areas with different nearby settlements. Begur’s coastline includes Sa Riera, Aiguablava, Sa Tuna and Aiguafreda. Farther south, Tamariu, Llafranc and Calella de Palafrugell each provide a coastal base with their own beach names; at Calella these include Canadell and Port Bo. Palamós adds La Fosca and Castell to the choice. Tossa de Mar pairs its main beach with Mar Menuda and smaller coves such as Es Codolar. Lloret’s wider beach area includes Fenals, Santa Cristina, Treumal and Sa Boadella. Select one cluster for the day, then check the exact beach location and approach. A shared municipality does not mean every cove is immediately beside the town centre.
