Why go
The Pueblo is an inland village above the shore, with older streets and an archaeological museum. Arroyo de la Miel is the denser residential and commercial centre between village and coast. Benalmádena Costa is the seafront zone for beaches, the marina and leisure attractions.
The full story
Benalmádena Pueblo sits inland and above sea level. Its white-fronted village core gives a different sense of scale from the developed shoreline, even though modern buildings are also part of the settlement. The archaeological museum adds a reason to pause there if you want to connect the townscape with finds from the wider area. Arroyo de la Miel lies between the Pueblo and the sea. Once a separate settlement, it became a dense residential and commercial centre. Benalmádena Costa forms the coastal belt, where hotels, beaches and the marina shape a more overtly resort-focused experience. Parque de la Paloma is another named anchor in this lower area. The municipality rises toward the mountains behind these urban zones, so a move from the coast to the Pueblo changes both elevation and character. This three-part layout is the main fact to settle before planning a day here.
Useful to know
- Group coastal stops together and treat a visit to Benalmádena Pueblo as a separate inland leg.
