Mariánské Lázně
Mariánské Lázně is a western Bohemian spa town of springs, colonnades, parks and nineteenth-century buildings. Its appeal lies in the designed spa landscape as much as any treatment.
The Teplá Abbey's springs were developed into a spa town, then gardens, pavilions and colonnades reshaped the valley. Much of the visible town reflects its nineteenth-century growth. Walk through the parks and spa architecture to see how water, landscape design and European resort culture came together.
What to look for
Spring pavilions and colonnades
Parks framed by nineteenth-century spa buildings
The Anglican Church designed by William Burges
Useful to know
Treat the parks and colonnades as a connected walk, with time to pause at individual springs.
Check current rules and access before tasting mineral water or planning a spa treatment.
