Dallas Museum of Art
A broad art museum in the Dallas Arts District, the DMA offers a flexible indoor visit with global collections. It is well suited to an art-focused afternoon or a shorter stop between nearby venues.
The permanent collections range from ancient American and Asian works to American and contemporary art. That breadth lets you build a visit around a few galleries instead of trying to cover everything. The museum's Arts District position also pairs naturally with the neighboring Nasher Sculpture Center.
What to look for
Ancient American works across ceramics, stone and textiles
Asian art spanning several religious traditions
Contemporary works alongside older collections
Useful to know
Choose a few collection areas before entering; the museum covers many periods and regions.
