Texas Theatre
The Texas Theatre is a historic Oak Cliff cinema with a recognizable street façade and an active film program. It combines a Dallas history landmark with a working neighborhood theater.
The Texas Theatre remains a cinema rather than a frozen historical marker. Its façade gives a street-level glimpse of Oak Cliff’s moviegoing past, while current screenings keep the building in use. Its association with the aftermath of Kennedy’s assassination adds another layer of Dallas history, but the continuing film program gives visitors a present-day reason to make the trip south of downtown.
