Grenen
Grenen is the sand spit north of Skagen where the Skagerrak and Kattegat meet. Its broad beach and opposing currents make the coastal geography visible on foot.
Why go
Walk toward the tip and watch the water on both sides rather than expecting a built attraction. The shifting sand and exposed position are the experience. Keep a safe distance from rough water and allow for wind; the visit is best approached as a coastal walk whose conditions can change quickly.
What to look for
Two bodies of water meet at the tip.
A broad sand spit extends beyond Skagen.
Useful to know
Assess wind and surf before walking out toward the tip.
