City Park
City Park gives Denver’s east side a broad lakefront walk and a skyline view. Visit for the grounds themselves, separate from the zoo and science museum inside it.
Walk around Ferril Lake, pause by the pavilion and look west toward downtown with the mountains beyond. The park is large enough for a real outdoor break between cultural visits. It remains useful even if you do not enter either neighboring institution; allow extra time if you want to cross the full grounds.
What to look for
Ferril Lake frames a view toward downtown and the mountains.
Open lawns and paths spread between the zoo and science museum.
Useful to know
Use the Ferril Lake paths for a distinct park visit between the zoo and science museum; crossing the grounds takes additional time.
