Cayo Levantado
Cayo Levantado is a small island in Samaná Bay, reached by boat. Its white-sand shore makes it a sea outing with a clear island destination.
Why go
The crossing changes the perspective on Samaná Bay before you reach the beach. Once ashore, the island setting is the attraction: water around the cayo, palms and a contained stretch of sand. It is a different choice from the longer mainland beaches near Las Galeras and Las Terrenas.
