Cueva de las Maravillas
Cueva de las Maravillas lies between San Pedro de Macorís and La Romana. Lit paths reveal limestone forms and Taíno pictographs inside.
Why go
The cave offers two subjects in one contained visit: natural stalactites and stalagmites, and Indigenous marks preserved on the rock. The tourism authority describes lighting, ramps and an elevator, making the interpretation easier to follow than in an undeveloped cave. Look carefully at both geology and art rather than treating it as only a cool indoor break.
