Parque Colón
Parque Colón is the public square beside the Catedral Primada. Its open space gives the Colonial City an easy place to pause and read the surrounding façades.
Why go
The square helps make sense of central Santo Domingo before or after entering the cathedral. From one position you can compare the church frontage, the statue in the park and the movement along adjoining streets. It works especially well as an orientation stop between individual monuments, rather than as another museum visit.
