Why go
This sea-facing outing works for visitors who want short indoor discovery before a longer afternoon outdoors. The Aquarium introduces local marine life near the harbour, and Porporela offers a quick look back toward the walls from the water’s edge. Banje is the first beach stop, close enough to keep the day loose. St Jakov is an optional farther cove that asks for a more purposeful walk; stay at Banje if you prefer an easier finish. Shore and sea conditions vary, so treat swimming as a choice rather than a promised part of the route.
