Why go
This eastward walk suits architecture lovers who have already seen Stradun or want a quieter way to understand the city’s edge. Start at the Dominican complex and study its setting by the eastern wall. Check current access if you want to enter the church or cloister. Then give Fort Revelin its own exterior study before crossing the Ploče threshold. The Lazarettos show another use for monumental stone buildings beyond defense: controlling arrivals outside the gate. The Museum of Modern Art is an optional change of era and an indoor finish in a seafront mansion. The fort, gate and monastery setting also reward an exterior visit when interior access varies.
