When to Visit Dubrovnik
Dubrovnik has hot summers, mild wetter winters and exposed coastal walks. Spring and autumn often make the city walls easier to tackle, while summer rewards careful timing and shade breaks.

Weather changes the value of Dubrovnik’s outdoor sights. The walls and seafront offer broad views but little shelter from strong sun, rain or wind. In summer, give the ramparts a comfortable part of the day and leave indoor museums or shaded lanes for hotter hours. In cooler months, carry a layer for the Bura, the cold gusty wind that can sweep down the coast.
Useful to know
Plan the exposed wall walk around heat, rain and wind rather than treating it as an all-weather stop.
Keep a sheltered Old Town option, such as a museum, for a wet or very hot interval.
