John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park
John Pennekamp introduces the Upper Keys’ marine landscape through its shoreline and separately operated reef trips. Choose between a land-based park visit and a booked marine excursion before setting the day’s expectations.
A shore visit and a reef excursion offer different encounters with the park’s marine setting. Choose the kind of visit first: walking by mangroves does not provide the same experience as traveling offshore. That distinction matters in the Upper Keys, where the attraction’s marine identity can suggest an underwater experience that a shore-only stop will not provide.
