Why go
Begin at Piazza De Ferrari and inspect Teatro Carlo Felice and Palazzo Ducale before walking to San Lorenzo Cathedral. Continue downhill through the caruggi toward Porto Antico and the Aquarium. The Lanterna requires a separate westward transfer and should replace, not follow, another long museum. Chiossone and Villa Durazzo Pallavicini sit in opposite directions; treat either as an optional alternative. This route works best when its central sequence remains fixed and the distant finish is chosen according to weather, energy and opening times.
