Ghent University Museum (GUM)
GUM is a science museum about the work behind knowledge: doubt, trial, imagination and debate. Its permanent displays and changing exhibition offer a substantial indoor visit beside the separate botanical garden.
Why go
GUM treats science as a human process shaped by doubt, testing and imagination. Objects and art show how researchers form questions, revise ideas and sometimes disagree. That makes the museum engaging even if the subject is unfamiliar. Its setting beside the university botanical garden also lets visitors compare scientific collections with living plants without confusing the two attractions.
