Acropolis of Lindos
Expect a steep climb through Lindos to a citadel combining ancient sanctuary remains and medieval fortification. The exposed upper route can be demanding in midday heat.
The acropolis rises above Lindos village, placing ancient sanctuary remains and later fortifications in one steep ascent. Look back over the bay as you climb to see why the hill mattered as much as the buildings. The approach is exposed and can be tiring in heat, so allow a slower pace.
What to look for
Look over the bays from the upper Acropolis terraces.
Useful to know
The ascent starts in Lindos village; take water and confirm current archaeological-site entry before climbing.
