Myrtos Beach
Myrtos is a white-pebble cove on Kefalonia's northwest coast. Its steep enclosing slopes and turquoise water make it as much a landscape stop as a beach visit.
The pale shore curves between mountain slopes, and the turquoise water gives the cove its striking contrast. That combination is the reason to make the journey: the view of the whole cove and the details at the waterline are different experiences. Treat swimming conditions as a fresh decision on arrival.
What to look for
A broad arc of white pebbles sits between steep mountain slopes.
Turquoise water contrasts sharply with the pale shore.
Useful to know
Assess the waves at the shore before entering the water; conditions can change the value of a swim.
Verify current access and services locally before relying on a full beach day.
