Old Fortress of Corfu
Corfu’s Old Fortress occupies a promontory beside the old town, with layered Venetian defenses and sea outlooks. The bridge approach and exposed upper paths make it a substantial outdoor stop.
The causeway and moat lead into the Old Fortress, where Venetian defences project out from Corfu town toward the sea. Walking its walls gives a different view of the old centre than a street-level stroll. Its scale and open sections merit deliberate time, especially in heat or wind.

Cross the bridge and climb toward the upper fortifications.
