Mykonos Windmills
The white Kato Mili windmills stand in a row above Chora's harbor. Their position catches the northern wind and gives a clear view across the town.
Why go
These mills turn the island's windy climate into a visible piece of working history. Built chiefly during Venetian rule to grind grain, they kept operating into the twentieth century. From the hill, compare their round forms and pointed roofs with the dense houses of Chora below.
What to look for
A row of round, white mills with pointed roofs
Hilltop position facing the island's strong northern wind
A broad view of Chora and part of its harbor
Useful to know
Combine the exterior view with a walk through nearby Chora and Little Venice.
The hill is exposed; check the wind before lingering at the viewpoint.
