Delos Archaeological Site
Delos is a broad island archaeological site reached by boat from Mykonos. Give its sacred and residential ruins several hours; the retained synagogue is only one part of it.
Why go
The island’s sanctuary, streets and houses show why Delos had a much wider role than a single monument. The Terrace of the Lions and domestic mosaics offer very different views of that history. Transport and exposure make this a planned excursion, not a short Mykonos stop.
What to look for
Terrace of the Lions in the sanctuary area
Ancient streets and house remains
Mosaic floors in residential ruins
Useful to know
Confirm boat service and site access before departure.
Allow a substantial block of daylight for the island.
