Sarakiniko
Sarakiniko is Milos’s pale sculpted shoreline on the north coast. Go to see the volcanic rock and small sea inlets; wind and sea conditions can change the visit.
Why go
The smooth white formations make this coast look unlike the island’s sandy beaches. Walking across the rock reveals folds, channels and viewpoints over blue water. It is a strong landscape stop even when swimming is unsuitable, provided conditions allow safe access.
What to look for
Smooth white volcanic rock formations
Small channels and inlets cut into the shore
Strong contrast between pale stone and sea
Useful to know
Check wind and sea conditions before travelling.
Wear shoes with grip for uneven rock.
