Skaros Rock
Skaros Rock is a separate walk from Imerovigli to the remains of a fortified settlement. The caldera setting is open and exposed, so the path is best considered in fair weather.

Skaros was once a dense fortified settlement and a former centre of Santorini. Its remaining stonework gives the cliff a history beyond the view alone. Walking out from Imerovigli also changes the angle on the caldera, with the village receding behind the rock.
What to look for
Ruins of the former fortified settlement
Rocky projection beyond Imerovigli
Open caldera outlook from the approach
