Why go
Shangxiajiu is valuable for more than shopping. Its covered arcades and Xiguan setting make local commercial architecture easy to see, while food counters and side streets keep the experience grounded in daily use. The main trade-off is crowding and uneven quality among individual shops.

- Follow short side streets for a quieter view of Liwan's older commercial fabric.
