Hakone Ropeway
A cable-car journey between Sōunzan and Tōgendai via Ōwakudani, turning the crossing of Hakone’s volcanic terrain into an attraction. It also serves the lake corridor.
Why go
Ride for aerial views of the volcanic valley and changing mountain scenery, not simply as transport to another stop. The journey is distinct from visiting Ōwakudani itself and links the Gora side to Lake Ashi. Weather can change both visibility and whether the line operates.
