Explore Vedado through the University of Havana, Hotel Nacional, Plaza de la Revolución and the memorial landscapes that shaped modern civic Havana.

Vedado and Revolutionary Landmarks

Why go

Start at the University of Havana and descend toward La Rampa, Hotel Habana Libre and the Vedado section of the Malecón. Continue to Hotel Nacional and nearby parks before making the larger transfer to Plaza de la Revolución and the José Martí Memorial. The cemetery or Napoleon Museum can replace, not simply add to, another stop. This is a spread-out day suited to travelers comfortable with taxis and substantial outdoor exposure.

Useful to know

  • Use a taxi for the jump between the Malecón side of Vedado and Plaza de la Revolución.
  • Choose either Colón Cemetery or the Napoleon Museum if time is limited.
