Why go
A low advertised price can lose its value if the model changes or essential accessories cost extra. Shopping areas such as Nathan Road and Causeway Bay make comparison relevant, but a district name alone tells you little about a transaction. Concentrate on the goods, the complete offer and the point at which money changes hands.
The full story
Bargaining starts with a comparison, not a target percentage. Identify the same model in several offers and ask whether the price can change. A discount has little meaning if the products or included accessories differ. For branded electronics, an unusually low figure deserves closer examination rather than an immediate deposit. One sales manoeuvre to guard against is accepting payment for an item and then announcing that it is unavailable. The proposed substitute may be a poorer product despite an enthusiastic explanation. Seeing the actual stock before paying reduces that risk. Another is using an attractive camera price to begin a sale, then pushing a different model at a higher cost. Inspect the box you will take away, including the accessories, and ask to see equipment working when that is relevant. If the offer changes during payment, pause and compare again. None of these checks depends on a shop's signs, the number of staff or assumptions about the seller.
