Founded as a retreat for Buddhist nuns in 1934, Chi Lin was rebuilt in the 1990s using traditional architectural forms. Its interlocking timber construction gives you a reason to look closely at how the halls fit together. Statues of the Buddha, Guanyin and other bodhisattvas make this a religious visit as well as an architectural one.
