Star Ferry Pier, Central
Use Central’s Star Ferry pier for a harbour crossing that puts both skylines at water level. The terminal also rewards a look as an example of recreated historic design.

The present pier opened in 2006 after reclamation moved the ferry landing farther into the harbour. Its Edwardian-style appearance deliberately recalls an earlier generation of terminal rather than preserving the old building. That makes the crossing a way to understand both the harbour’s enduring transport role and the changing position of Central’s waterfront.
What to look for
Green-and-white double-deck ferries connect the two harbour skylines.
The terminal combines a clock tower, open-air spaces and skylights.
Useful to know
Go to Pier 7 for the Star Ferry; neighbouring Pier 8 houses the Maritime Museum.
Use the official timetable and allow for weather or marine-traffic changes when connecting with later plans.
