Victoria Peak Garden

Victoria Peak Garden offers lawns and Victorian-style features above the commercial Peak area. It suits an extra uphill walk when you want garden space beyond the malls.

Why go

The former Mountain Lodge, a governor’s alternative residence, once occupied this site. The house has gone, but the Gate Lodge and surviving stone features give the garden a historical focus. Gazebos and open lawns make this a different kind of stop from the observation decks around the tram terminus.

What to look for

  • The Gate Lodge recalls the former Mountain Lodge estate.
  • Stone pillars survive among lawns and Victorian-style gazebos.

Useful to know

  • Add the uphill approach from the tram area to your garden time.
  • Allow about 45 minutes for the garden itself.
