Why go
Begin at the Tower of David to establish the Old City's layers before entering the dense lanes around the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. Continue east to the Western Wall, allowing time for security and respectful observation rather than treating the plaza as a pass-through. In the afternoon, cross or transfer through the Kidron Valley for the Garden of Gethsemane and finish at the Mount of Olives viewpoint. The ascent is steep and the complete route is demanding, so use a taxi for the final climb or make Gethsemane optional.
